last sunday i went to echuca with a group of friends, it's up north of victoria and at the border of victoria and new south wales. so i practically went to nsw as well. it was a small quiet town. when we arrived there early in the morning, we went to visit the old fashioned style of steam ship and took a ride for an hour along the murray river. not sure if i got the name of the river right. after that we went to visit around the small village, with shops like wine tasting, wood making, lollies shop. after that we went off and searched for lunch. and unfortunately there wasn't many restaurants opened and we ended up having charcoal chicken. haha!
in the afternoon, we had plans to go canoeing but sadly the person in charge told us that there was going to have a storm coming, so we had to cancel the plan for the day. so we ended up getting our maps and pulled over beside the road to look for alternatives. haha! and the view there was really nice. the wind was really cold tho. then we decided to go the scenic drive at the national park along the murray river. the funniest part was there was nothing there as well! gosh! so we had to look for another place to visit, decided to go to the cape horn vineyard. okay we were all set and went there according to the google map description that they had researched before. and guess what?! we went to the opposite direction of the vineyard and wasted half an hour drive there. we then called in to the vineyard to get the right direction. it was actually in the forest and it took us almost an hour to reach there. what a day! it was raining heavily as well.
when we finally arrived there, we had some wine tasting and finally got to chill a bit. it is a very nice cosy vineyard. and the wine was pretty good as well. the next day had a morning walk with wenji as we woke up really early. it was freezing cold outside too. there were ppl preparing for a market nearby but too bad we didn't have time to join in the fun. later, we eventually went for canoeing in the cold weather. it was a really tiring activity and i was a bit scared of falling off into the water. haha! we had to canoe for 10km and it took us 2 hours to arrive at the destination. anyway it was an unforgettable experience for me! =D
