nightmares..

i woke up this saturday morning with terrible feelings.. that was really horrible.. the work is daunting me even when i sleep. that's really not a nice feeling at all.. i really tried all kinds of ways to relax myself. i had a chat with dear, read a book, listened to my ipod, played some games before i sleep. yet i woke up with such stressful feeling. i guess i'm giving myself too much pressure?

hope that my outing today to be tour guide for some malaysian visitors can ease off my full brain of stress.

crazy cold weather..

the weather in aussie land is getting crazy!!! yesterday we had serious warning by the govt to go home early because there was strong and serious winds and thunderstorms and hail, the authority was afraid that the bad weather may cause disruption on the transport system as there are lots of commuters taking the public transport to work and back home. i was unfortunately at work until 5.30pm and it was predicted that the bad weather would hit city by 5pm. luckily by the time i finished work, the weather was okay. apparently the strong winds had came before that. thank goodness! the train station was all empty. fortunately i arrived at home safely. i think the rain and strong wind continued on during the night. but i was tucked under my quilt. cosy and warm. as for other states, it was all different story. queensland had a record high of temperature with 35 degrees during winter period. wow! it led to talking about global warming problem and stuff like that. is that true?

anyhow below are some photos. first one is me before a hair cut just before the day of my birthday. i think so. haha! anyway all freshen up now. the second one is my present for myself. a marcs jacob's bag. love it! take care ppl!

birthday bash..

well i'm supposed to write about it ages ago. haha! anyways remember that i mentioned that i had three days of celebration for my big day? well here's some to share.. on saturday night, 8 of august i had a dinner celebration with all my friends, at hogs breath, a famous steak place. i like the steak there with a massive size. we had a party menu with appertiser which is potato skin with some salsa, cheesy and bacon inside and also garlic bread. for main course we had a selection of steak or the chicken. and for dessert we had the chocolate mudcake, which is super duper yummy one! overall it was all good, but the service for that night was quite poor due to the crowd at the restaurant for the whole night. by the time we finished our dinner, it was already around 11pm. gosh!! i was so full that time! haha.. anyway after that we headed to daniel's house to cut cake. i had the most prettiest and luxuriest cake in my whole 24 years. it was a cake from brunetti. and also the first time that i didn't get the cake myself. haha!

then the next day i went out for lunch with my family, cause mum and dad work on monday so we had our family celebration during sunday lunch. then i went out shopping with mum and sis at southland. i was being good that day, i didn't buy anything. haha! on monday, which is the actual day, i went to work as usual.. of course i had some special treatment on that day. i made some mistakes with my given tasks and i was able to get away with it. haha! lucky me.. and in the afternoon, my collegues celebrated with me with a black forest cake, another cake! haha.. then later at night, i went out dinner with a few friends, with ck as well. we went to try a new place at little collins street, it's a sushi train restaurant, first time i had it in melb. it's called sakura kaiten sushi. it's a really small restaurant but it had really nice atmosphere and settings at the place. not many tables as well. matt preston, one of the aus food critic went there before, as for his critics for the restaurant, i think it was just so so.. but i had a great time eating all types of sushis there, and their raw salmon was my fav. their sushis are modified for western taste buds and also modernised. they added some cheese inside the unagi roll i had. haha! something interesting. but the prices of the sushis are a bit pricey, as compared to the ones i had with dear in brisbane. haha! about 4.80 per plate and only about 3-4 serves per plate. the sizes of the sushis are rather smaller, but very nice presentation. the service was awesome though! the waitresses are very attentive and friendly. overall i had a great time eating the sushis there and i also tried one of their bentos. i had an enjoyable evening and ended with a nice talk with dear. and i love the special gift from dear.

so all in all, i had splurged myself with nice dinners, great celebrations and awesome gifts! felt really blessed.. thanks for all the love.

love,
mel

lazy saturday..

my lazy worm is really active today.. as soon as i woke up, i didn't feel like doing anything and i was only staring at the ceiling with my blank mind.. luckily jen called in.. haha! but at the moment, i still don't feel like doing anything but just hanging around in my bed and with my laptop in front of me. i have lots to do, some cleaning, some tidying and most importantly i need to study! but looks like it's all set aside for me. it's really not often for me to stay in my bed with the nice weather outside and i could just do nothing. well i decided to do some update about me here.

i had a nice dinner with my all gals collegues after work last night. at a greek restaurant called stalactites along lonsdale street. it's one of an award winning restaurant for 2008. we headed there as soon as we finished work and the restaurant was already full with people. luckily we didn't need to wait for long to get a table. they don't take bookings if we are less than 10 or something like that. anyways we tried their pita bread with mixed dips, mixed platter and also a greek garden salad. i love the pita bread alot, it's so much different from the ones that we have outside, it was delicious and match it with the dips and meat, it was awesome.. the mixed platter has chicken, beef and also lamb. i personally like the chicken ones, cause the beef and lamb was a bit too dry for me. overall it was a meaty dinner, it was good that we had a plate of salad. haha! i wanted to try their dessert but i was too full by the end of the dinner. too bad! will go and try there again. next time will bring dear to the restaurant, and prob try the souvalki. wanted to take photos with my collegues but they all ran away when i took out my phone. haha! so only took photos of the food.. i had a great night out with them last night.

true beauty..

i'm suppose to write and post some photos for my b'day but i'm kinda lazy. haha! i shall write about it some other time.. anyways yesterday i was enjoying my journey back home with my new luxurious itouch.. a special gift from a special someone..

i was reading about an article on mX about true beauty. and it stated some statistics on how much money is spent on cosmetics and skin care by women. it was an average of 60 dollars spent every month or maybe a week, don't remember. it might not be a large sum but by adding up in a year, it does make a difference. that's the mind set of accountants i suppose. haha! anyway there are two type of arguments. one stated that what for put on such a thick layer of cover up, it shows how insecure you are.. the other hand was saying that cosmetics helps to enhance your special feature and can help u to look prettier. hmm.. as for me, i'm more leaning towards the first one. i'm not a fan on makeup due to my sensitive skin but i have to admit sometimes i do need some makeup to make myself look better, at least to cover up my dark circles and brighten up my look, at a really natural way, i hope. still working on my skills with that. certainly not to spend so much on cosmetics tho. most important item for everyone, no matter guys or gals, is moisturiser and sunblock.. with the dry weather and bright sunshine, we should take some effort on looking after our skin. so that we won't look like 40 years old when we are only 30.

or perhaps the most important ingredient to true beauty is happiness with stress free. when you are happy, no matter old or young, with makeup or without makeup, your face will just glow. but nowadays is it possible for someone to be stress free? i guess not, but just try to think of something happy happened. i'm thinking.. ^_^

exhausting days..

well i've been a bit inactive here for sometime.. the main reason is that i'm always so tired after work and by the time i have time to relax and chill in front of the comp, i'm already feeling too sleepy to write a blog. so sad.. working life is so not fun at all.. haha! i was talking with a friend last night and i was telling how i feel everyday after work, and all i can say is that there is always better things to look forward to.. maybe feeling excited of what's new to learn at work? haha.. oh yea.. i've started my cpa course but with my condition like this, do you really think i'm studying? to be frank, not yet! but i shall do it as soon as possible..i hope. *wink*

i want to share about my experience selling clothes at the camberwell market last sunday. i had to wake up before 6am to get prepared and arrive there before 7am and also to set up our stal.. i went with a few friends and believe it or not we had a car full of clothes and other stuff.. anyway we arrived there a bit later than others and already there were ppl walking around and started to shop! we had our stuff on the tables to set up and they are still in boxes. there was a guy just pick up the box and look around.. gosh! that was quite shocking. haha! it took us a while to set up the stall and the crowd started to come in before we even had time to have some breakfast. people was bargaining on everything, even with clothes that we wanna sell at only 5 dollars. awww.. it felt quite painful when i saw some of my brand new stuff and rather expensive ones selling at a low price of 2 dollars? that is what we called a second hand market. something like what we have in pasar malam in malaysia. it was great fun learning to sell stuff. it was quite windy that morning and we had sales until the very last moment. the market closes at 12.30pm. by the time we packed up and left, it was already almost 2pm. and we had a nice lunch at nyonya hut at syndal. we were really starving by that time. haha! and the food was pretty good there.. should go try it out. i had a great day but seriously it was so tiring.. it was even tiring than having badminton. i was zombie-ing the whole day at work on monday. time for me to head to bed. miss lots!

lucky or not?

lately i've just finished reading another book, called chasing harry winston, by the same author who wrote the devil wears prada, don't remember her name. haha! anyway it's a really nice one and the story line is really having "sex and the city" feel.. so it's suitable for me to read, altho sometimes i don't get some of the stuff that she mentioned about. but after reading a few books, i did pick up some of the uk brands that we never hear about here. haha! it was about the stories of three gals that are besties for ages and with their different characters and love lifes. how the author twist and turn the story, it was awesome and made me wanting to go on and on. always take the chance to read it during my train rides. now that i've finished it, i felt boring in the train. haha! well i'll hunt for my next book soon.. ^^ talking about besties, it made me thinking.. may the friendship stays on and on!

anyway heard of jessica mauboy? she's one of the runner up of australian idol from last year or the year before. she's really young when she went for the audition and with her great voice, she successfully went thru to the finale. i have to admit she's one of my fav and she's doing really well lately. clinique, the cosmetic brand, is having a promotion. get one of their five day trail of their famous 3 steps skin care and you could go into a draw of getting tickets to watch jessica sing her new album. haha! i wanted them both, wanna try the clinique skin care and see if it's suitable for my sensitive skin and also a try to win the draw to get tickets to see jessica. haha! aww... fingers cross! it's funny how i wanna try my luck on this and didn't even buy tattslotto for 80 million last week.

omg.. it's already august! the month of leo... ^^ may good things happens..

crazy saturday morning..

today i woke up at 7.30am and i wasn't able to sleep back.. that was terrible! how i wish i could just sleep in a bit longer.... anyway i'm still in my bed now, altho i think that i still need more sleep.. oh wells, last night i went out for shopping spree with two other gals after work in the city. and i can't resist the temptation of buying stuff, and i ended up buying myself a new marcs bag. love it! haha.. after some shopping, we headed to ajisen ramen for dinner. nice day out but bit tiring after a long week of work. i'm heading to camberwell market to sell clothes tomorrow! and i need to wake up at 6am.. gosh! i wanna sleep in..
