undomestic goddess..

these few days i was hooked up with another book. i was reading another sophie kinsella's book, called the undomestic goddess, the story was about a top lawyer who is working in the top lawyer firm in london and she was at the peak of her career and preparing herself to be one of the partners in the firm. but just before she got that position, she just realised that she made a mistake. a huge one that caused her client to loss 50 million pound. she ran away when she realised it and came into an unknown place where she found herself being a housekeeper! what an accident. haha! and the catch is that she doesn't know any single thing of the house chores, neither how to use the microwave nor how to use a washing machine. that's really an example of a city gal. and things just went on from there, it was hilarious how she always pull it off. and the ending was awesome! you won't know what she had chosen. haha! anyway it was another good one! loved it! looking forward to another one soon.. ^^

movie!

i've been missing in action for a while here.. haha! well stay tuned though cause i got heaps of things happening this week. =P anyway last weekend i went out for a movie, angels and demons. it was a rather interesting movie to watch. i supposed there are alot of Dan Brown's fans out there, and cannot be denied that the story lines was so intense throughout the whole movie and i assumed it's even better in the book. rather controversial, the thing about christianity and science and perhaps cruelty? and the thing about Rome! the birth place of christianty.. the architectures and culture in the country is so unique and seriously i can't think of a perfect word to describe it. haha! i didn't get some of the details, the movie was so fast, very condensed but it was really good, the director did a great job in putting as much as possible in the movie. but i seriously didn't know that the 'good' priest was actually the bad guy!! thumbs up for ewan mcgregor! i think it's a movie that can't be missed.

winter is coming!

since winter is coming, there's heaps of information telling us how to look after our skin. well since i'm not that young anymore, need to start to look after our skin! therefore i've found some notes to remind myself..^^ if not for your reference.. haha!

Caring for your skin
Avoid diuretic beverages such as coffee and wine.
Protect your lips with a SPF 30+ lip balm.
Drink a minimum of eight glasses of water each day.
Wear protective clothes, including a hat, gloves, scarf and sunglasses.
Don't sit too close to heaters.
Eat a diet rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins and minerals.

When temperatures drop, so do the moisture levels in your skin. To avoid dry, tight and prematurely aged skin, moisturise twice a day. This helps to lock in nutrients and retain moisture. Apply a light moisturiser under your make-up each morning. After cleansing at night apply a rich-emulsion night cream.L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Night Cream is enriched with pro-retinol A, a powerful anti-wrinkle agent which helps stimulate skin regeneration. It also contains elastin to replenish the skin's depleted supply, RRP $29.95.Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser contains pro-vitamin B5 to restore, soften and smooth and vitamin E to moisturise. It's easily absorbed and acts as a base under make-up. Suitable for all skin types, RRP $10.95.

Hands are constantly in the line of battle. Moisturise at least twice a day and avoid hot water, harsh cleaning products and detergents.Nivea Hand SOS Intensive Balm contains an effective combination of glycerine, panthenol and calendula oil that instantly relieves dry and chapped hands. It also provides a long-lasting smoothing effect and protects against further moisture loss, RRP $5.50.Aveeno Active Naturals Intense Relief Hand Cream contains natural oatmeal and rich emollients that help soothe and moisturise your hands for 24 hours, RRP $9.95.

Body - Extreme weather, frequent bathing and the drying effects of home heating and air conditioning strip the skin of natural oils and moisture. Replenish and condition your body, including your feet, once a day with a nourishing lotion, or add oil to your bathwater. Bathe in warm water only, as hot water dehydrates the skin.Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion with vitamin E melts into the skin and softens, smoothes and gives relief, RRP $12.95.Bio-Oil can be added to bathwater or massaged into the skin, RRP $14.95.

Hair - Protect your hair from drying winds and extreme temperature changes with an oil treatment such as Alberto VO5 Hot Oil Anti-Frizz. It helps fortify hair against breakage and splitting, while UV filters help guard against environmental damage. Massage into hair for one minute while showering. It protects hair for up to four washes, RRP $4.99.

advance technology..

i have to admit that i'm not really good in high tech stuffs. especially in things regarding with computers. i don't even know how to play playstation! i haven't played WII as well before. okay i might from the ancient cave or something. haha! to share with you a little thing that i just explored through internet. just now my sister was panicking cause she accidentally deleted her recycle bin! haha! it was a pretty funny situation. i was in front of my laptop so i decided to do the advanced way, to check online! =P in the end, with just typing recycle bin and google it, i actually found heaps of information, apparently some ppl had the same problem too, so the problem was easily solved. wow! now that i realised it's so easy to search for information you need from internet. well i did research on the net during my uni days, but it was for specific topics, so it's kinda different way to search information on net. oh wells, hope i didn't sound too stupid here. hahaha! anyway to advance myself to higher level in computer thingy, i've decided to involve in a great mission. look, this mission is so huge for me, cause i never buy anything so expensive before, with my own money.. my mission is actually to get myself a new laptop and it's not ordinary laptop, it's macbook! haha! probably by next month, i hope. stay tuned!

busy week!

well i had a super busy week. also busy during the weekend. at work, i was learning the receptionist work, assignments like helping a new company to register with ASIC, a government sector to apply for companies, applying for ABN and GST and so on, applying for trust, stamping trust deed at the state revenue office, dealing with more clients at the front desk. sounds all technical.. haha! but it was interesting to learn all of them.

after such hectic week, i was so looking forward to the weekend for some rest. however it's different when you have two friends having their birthdays. on friday night after work, i headed to myer to shop around and fyi, myer in the city had a massive renovation and it's all so luxurious and classy. with the cosmetics department, great lightings and new modern look. and even better is that they are having the mid year sale! really tempting place to shop. haha! tempting but i have even greater mission. come back to that in a while. anyway after that i was waiting outside of myer to meet up with some friends that were going for dinner together. i was sitting at the bench with a guy next to me. and the next thing i realised he was having an argument with his girlfriend who was late for their date. i know it's not nice to eavesdrop on other ppl's conversation but i was sitting there. so i overheard their argument. both of them were indians, so they did use their language to argue but also in english. then this guy was complaining how he waited for her and he even complained over small things and how he had changed since he got together with her and so on. and the gal was also arguing and defending herself about the issues. well at some point, i almost wanna stood up and tell them to chill down. haha! of course i didn't do so.. but it was kinda sad to see how they argue and stuff. i would have to say it's never nice to argue with your beloved ppl around you, no matter for whatever reason it is, altho i have to admit that i do so too. ^^ so the moral of the story is that we should calm down ourselves to think before starting an argument with your loved ones.

anyway back to my dinner, haha! i met up with my friends and we went to federation square for a restaurant called feddish. the design of the restaurant was pretty nice, cosy and with warm lightings, not too bright and just a nice place to catch up with a few friends and have some nice food. however, the restaurant is famous of having slow service. hmm.. not so good as we were all starving by then. luckily i did manage to eat a sushi before that. i ordered a grilled fish of the day which was marlin and with salad. not too big serve, so i was probably only around 60% full. haha! but the taste itself was pretty good, with the moisture and sourness of the salad. my friends ordered others like salmon, lamb shanks, linguine, pizza and chicken. not many choices on their menus, but i would assume they are looking on quality more than quantity. overall, it was quite a nice place to try out except would be great if they could have quick service. after dinner we headed home to have shower before heading to friend place to cut cake at midnight. it was a tiring day for me.

on saturday i had some time to chill out at home, but sadly i woke up at 8.30am on a saturday morning! i had a dream that i was at work before i woke up and i couldn't get back to sleep. sigh.. so i did some washings and facebooking and bits and pieces of houseworks. haha! went out for dinner at springvale for another friend's birthday. then headed to sing k in the city for the whole night. huh! i have to say that i'm getting not used to staying up late. haha! below are photos of my grilled fish i had at feddish and the second one is the salmon that other friend had. looks yummy... ^_^

working life..

after entering the workforce, i've joined in the working life and even better i was working in the luxurious city where i get to wear nice and smart workwear everyday and also casual wear on fridays! how awesome is that.. but of course i've also joined in to the reality world where results of your work counts more than the process of the getting the results, unlike when we were in school or uni, the important part was the learning process. i'm still new in the real world, i am still absorbing the knowledge and taking my baby steps through the process. hope that i'll blend in soon or maybe not, it'll get boring! haha..

starting my working days, means i've also started some small changes and daily routines. small changes like wearing a watch, bringing lunch to work, more aware of my appearance and so on. time management is one big thing during work, and hence i've had a small change from not wearing a watch, to getting used to having a watch at my wrist to remind me of the time. when i started working, i didn't bother to bring lunch all the time to work, there's too many choices of food around my workplace, it's in the middle of the city! haha.. but in order to save money, i'm bringing lunch to work. ppl who knows me well would know that i seldom have makeup on my face. haha! but nowadays i do need some powder to cover up my dark circles.. hahaha! =P routines like getting into bed by 11pm, wake up in the early mornings, taking the packed trains to work, facebooking with my phone. aww.. am i getting old?!! =.=

well there's one thing that i haven't learned tho, i still don't drink coffee in the mornings and reading the newspapers.. hmmm.. will try to pick up the reading newspaper part. *wink*

weekend..

well i've been busy at work, today just started working at the reception and there are so many things to learn and one of the thing is time management, cause all of the time things just piled up in front of you and seriously i kinda get lost.. haha! i'm still trying my best to absorb as much as i could and as quickly as i could. fingers cross that i do well..

during last weekend, i had a rather eventful one.on friday night, i went back home for dinner as usual.. but i went out for drinks and pancake with my friends at heilderberg, which is around half an hour away from my house. we drove such long way for a well known pancake house, called the stockers. well the environment of the place was rather small, warm, old fashioned, yet very cosy place. very homey feel i suppose. i tried the rum banana pancake. in fact it's more like crepes. it was alright, not too special i should say and a bit pricy.. i miss pancake on the rocks in sydney! haha..however, it's a nice place for chilling out with friends for a weekend night.

on saturday i went to williamstown with a group of friends. it's a small town which is about 15 mins away from the city by car. firstly we headed to the science works musuem. it's an interesting place. to be honest, i've never been to a science museum before. hahaha! good place for kids to learn some interesting science thingy.. there is also a planetarium, and also it was my first time. it's really nice inside, they were introducing the stars according to the oboriginals, so it was something that we don't really know, cause the common ones are the european stars like gemini, leo, cancer and so on.. but it was still an interesting experience. after our time in the museum, we went to the town area and hunt for food. we were starving by then, and we had fish n chips! it was pretty good! after satisfying our tummies, we went to walk around the pier. there were so many ships and boats! i wish i could own one someday. haha! and at night, i went for movies, altho i was so tired.. i've watched star trek! and chris pine, one of the main actor, is so good looking! and he is an australian! haha! well the movie was pretty good, better than expected. cause i've never watched star wars or star trek series before.

on sunday night, i finally managed to find time for baking! i made curry puffs and dad also said that it was pretty good. happy mother's day, altho mum is not around to enjoy my results. maybe will re-make it when she's back.^^ well that's my short yet eventful weekend.

some photos of the science works museum.. that's some bridge facts in aussie.

that's the yummy fish and chips that helped to satisfy our hunger..haha! looks delicious.. i'm hangry again! opsss..=P

updates..

i've just started working as a full time this week! weeee... the catch is that i need to be the receptionist as well by rotation. well it's good enough to have a job secured during this kind of recession time in the economy. can't really ask for more. that's by far the only good news that i had for ages. anyway yesterday i had a small muffin from my friend, it was chocolate muffin! this also reminds me of the chocolate lava cake that dominos is selling.. haha! always see that in the advertisement on tv, always wanted to try that..=P i should do some baking sometime too!

this morning i went to work as usual and arrived at southern cross station. and you know what??!! i actually met zombies!!!!!!! what a horror start for the day for everyone of us there. there was a horde of zombies descended on the station today. they are actually doing a promotion for a new Bigpond zombie video game, from the ministry of dance students. gosh. what a day.. that really made me awake! haha..

on the way back home i was reading mX newspaper, and there was an article regarding the population of obese in australia is actually the fifth in world, and guess what, the french remain the skinny ones due to the time they spend in eating every day. the lucky first is the US, then Mexico, the UK and Greece. i wonder why mexico is the second. too much sweet stuffs around i suppose. and watching tv is the most popular leisure activity among most countries. i can know why. haha! cause i'm also hooked up with the tv lately.. masterchef is one of my fav at the moment. it shows ppl with talents in cooking and they really come out with interesting dishes with well presentation. and melb was claimed as one of the best food capital! wow.. it makes me wanna try more. haha!

swine flu is one of the main issue lately. take good care of yourselves!

seafood buffet!

yesterday i went to meet up some old friends that i knew from clayton rsl. we went to new quay for seafood buffet at docklands. before my trip to the city, i went to have a hair cut at glen, my usual place and i looked all fresh again! haha. especially my fringe. after my nice hair cut, i took the train to city. and since it was boring on the train, i took photo..=P anyway i headed to city earlier, around 3pm cause wanted to shop around. missed shopping in city even though i'm in the city 5 days a week. hahaha! found a new pair of working pants and a woolie kind of vest. another big mission was looking for chris's birthday present. ended up getting him a woolie top. i had heaps of fun shopping around and not enough time for me.. after that i met up with my friends and we headed to docklands. well it's a seafood buffet, they have many varieties, from salmon, sushi, steak, asian seafood dishes, satay, shark fin soup (fake ones?), peking duck, salads, mussels, oyster, prawns.. i would say it's not bad and it's about 40+ per person. but the thing is that they fixed the time limit for u to sit there. we started 6pm and they gave us the bill at 7.45pm sharp! we needed more time to chit chat so we headed outside at their waiting area to continue on. and we had 4 bottles of rose.. omg!! we just kept on chatting and drinking.. gosh! luckily it was rose.. anyway here's some of photos i took.. all in all, i had a great time catching up with friends and yummy food!

that's me after the hair cut.. look the same yea? cause it's the same hairdresser.. haha! and i only asked her for a trim..

outside southern cross station.. walked along the way towards docklands. nice view with the sunset background..

that's the restaurant!
a few dishes that i like.. haha! i had the second round of them.. =P

say cheese! with the nice view at the background. one of the nice part about the restaurant.. nice environment...

it's dessert time with more wine?
