i was on away mode.. although i still check on the blog updates all the time, i didn't have time to have a good write for the past few weeks. there was alot happening. well dear was here for the past two weekends, we had heaps of fun and some nice time together. but i still went for work and he went to the library. tried to be hardworking. haha! anyways we also spent some time exploring some places for some good food. my promise for dear. ^_^
finally i got the chance to bring dear to fifteen for dinner, a famous restaurant owned by jamie oliver. i ordered the slow roasted pork belly and dear ordered the pan fried salmon. it came out really good, the pork was roasted just nice, the meat still juicy and with the crisp outside, accompanied with some sauce. don't remember what was the sauce. and dear's salmon was done really juicy and tender, not overcooked at all. we also tried their rose and also the sauvignon blanc. well the rose was alright, tried better ones before. the sauvignon blanc was good, it was from spain. the service was not so attentive when the place was occupied, we went there alot earlier and it was all packed during dinner time. we also tried their dessert, one was the lemon tart and also the the triple cream cheese platter. the cheese tasted really good together with the fig jam, something like that. and the lemon tart was yummy, always can't say no to dessert. haha! the pastry was made just nice, i always love the pastry part. goes well with the mascarpone at the side. well we ended out fifteen experience with a whooping bill.. hahaha! nah.. just kidding! it was a fulfulling meal with alright price.
another highlight that we had was going to takumi japanese restuarant which is famous of wagyu beef and with a bit of contemporary theme. it's a must try i should say. i got to know about this restuarant from the newspaper before that and i went online to search about it in eatability. i did my homework. haha! anyway there were quite alot of good reviews on them. so jen and i decided to have a try after he got the good news! haha. i was daring enough to order the asahi beer, it's on special during 5-7pm, and dear ordered a champagne. then for entree, we ordered a beef stew and also the soba salad with sesame dressing. and the mains we ordered the seafood platter, the eye fillet and also a vegetable platter. oh i forgot to say that it's grill your own, we have a hot plate in the middle of the table and with charcoal. the entree was superb, the beef stew that we ordered just melted inside our mouth with a taste of spice, really yummy! and the soba salad was absolutely delicious, both of us just love it!! it was highly recommended ones, if you're not that into wagyu beef. with the grills, it was nice experience except it gets a bit hot at times when u're grilling. but the taste was awesome, maybe it's due to the charcoal. they also provide three different kinds of sauces to come with it, one is sesame sauce with salt which is nice with vegetables, and one is suitable with the beef and another one is suitable with the seafood. both of us also ordered rice to come with it. by the time we finished all of the mains, we were all full but of course we still had some more room for desserts. i ordered the green tea pudding with green tea ice cream and dear ordered the sesame one. it was delicious! the attention to detail in their presentation and the mixture of taste of the food was just perfect. very nice experience with great attentive friendly waitress. nice experience and definately gonna go back again! i'm happy to share the experience. haha!
the other one that we went together with my collegues during the weekend, was hu tong chinese restaurant. recommended by my collegue that their xiao long bao is yummy! so we ordered a few dishes with rice and some dumplings and also xiao long bao. and the xiao long bao just melted inside my mouth with the juicy sauce inside. it was made really good and i have to say it was by far the best ones i've tried. didn't know xiao long bao was actually that delicious. haha! we also tried their fish head soup. aww.. that was also another good one, it was so fresh and also not a bit of fishy smell at all and even not the gingery taste. well done for that! their food has a bit of spicyness, but it just goes really well with the food. probably will go and try the other dishes as well. just a quick update but it's all about food. haha! no pictures this time cause the food was just too good to stop and take pictures. hahaha! anyway miss lots!! need to get back studying now.. only three more weekeneds till my cpa exam..
food critic post haha... lol. more like restuarant advetisting haha
