bits and pieces..

it's saturday morning and i'm chilling out at my bed and surfing the net and having random thoughts. i saw the news and roger federer and mirka have baby twins! that's such a great news and let's see if they are also the future top tennis players like their dad.. talking about that, adrian is also going to be dad the second time. i wonder is it a gal or boy this time..

well it has been almost a week since i bought this new macbook. for the time being i'm still doing fine and starting to love the macbook. except for the msn part though. it's a bit different from the microsoft version. shall need more time to explore other features and this and that. surfing the net and writing my blog with itunes using the laptop has been great! of course some people might think it's a bit waste of money to spend so much on a macbook with the same functions that you can find on a normal laptop. but who cares. i'm loving it! haha.. i can do video call with dear as well. planning to get an ipod for the next. one step at a time.

winter is still in the air for melbourne. heard dear saying that brisbane is not that cold already. it's still freezing cold here. this morning i purposely made myself to sleep back after waking up before 8am. gosh.. i'm so used to waking up early. but i'm not going to complain about the cold cause i appreciate this more than the hotness during summer. haha!

masterchef the reality tv show had finished and it felt so different without chasing over the series every night after work. and i can see that it really made some significant changes on the ppl around me, i would say including me. we are more observant and creative with the plating up of the food that we cook. and i see some really interesting dishes posted up on facebook or blogs or parties. nice! i'm going to make chocolate fondant this weekend. fingers cross that it works. haha! shall show the end results if it is successful. food can always make me happy. same goes to you? have a great weekend.

interstate cheerleading competition

well a few weeks before that, i went to a cheerleading competition. it was so cool and it was something like what we normally see in american movies.. hhahaha! the youngest was eight years old and below.. i was thinking when i was only eight years old, i don't even dare to stand in front of the class.. that's the difference in the education system in malaysia. most of us struggled with more than ten subjects since we were young. and yet the westerns only focus on few subjects and they are really good in them. they also get the chance to expose themselves with different co-curricular activities. then again, i'm happy that i can speak three languages.. that's the best part. although i don't excel all three of them in the best way, it's still good enough for me. haha. i'm still trying my best to improve on that. lol.

anyway back to the competition, it was rather interesting watching them doing all different stuns and cheerleading. the organiser even invited the cheerleading team from canada. of course can't expect them to be as professional as the ones we watch on movies. but there were a few teams that impressed the audience. very interesting competition.. ^^

p/s my home central heating system was lagging just now.. we were having 14 degrees inside the house, freezing like mad. luckily it's running alright now and i'm tucked under my blanket.. i love my bed especially during winter and with a new macbook. how awesome is that! miss u!

exciting!

this is a very exciting post.. cause i am writing this with my new laptop... my very own new macbook! i've just finished watching the australian masterchef and julie won the title! omg! that's such a long way for all of them and it was a great watching throughout their journey. and it's true that they have improved their skills and become such a pro chef now. poh the malaysian even got invited to LA for a visit. i shall explore more on food as well as with my new laptop. haha! anyway just a brief post this time. still got tax return to fill in.. ><

black friday..

well sadly today i had a really long and bad day. i was all exhausted by the end of the day. maybe i should work on my memory, any tips on that? seriously are we meant to know everything? sometimes it just gets really overwhelming and also annoying with all the expectations and so on. not that i haven't work with that before and also tried my best to improve myself. but the thing is that when you missed it once, all your hardwork during the process is just useless. so frustrating.. okay enough with the mumbling. i shall look forward for better days. and of course i need to do better and hopefully hard work will pay off someday.

i've been addicted with the tv reality show masterchef for almost three months already. and they are finally having their finale this sunday and guess what? one of the finalist is actually a malaysian. that is so cool! anyway i've been inspired by the program and did some baking and cooking during weekends. it's actually quite fun and a way to cheer up myself because it's really satisfying when you can produce something yummy delicious! haha.. i can't get enough from yummy food. in fact, i feel like having a good meal whenever i'm not in a good mood. anyway looking forward to seeing the finale this sunday. let's see the western family food or asian quirky food wins.

music and lyrics..

last friday night i saw the movie "music and lyrics" by hugh grant and drew barrymore was on tv.. actually i've watched the movie in the cinema before and i was so in love with that movie that time. i think it was last year? like the part when he sang the song in the concert. haha! almost forgot how good was that movie. and the theme song of the movie was awesome! i remembered how much i love that song and listened to it almost everyday.. anyhow it's nice to watch it again. should watch it if you haven't watched it before. anyway harry potter is coming out soon.. hohoho!

footy game..

well last night i went to a footy match at etihad stadium and the match was between collingwood and western bulldogs. must be quite surprising that i went to a footy match. but i wanted to try the aussie culture and it was pretty fun. of course i didn't really understand the game before but now i have a rough idea how it goes. and also the atmosphere there was so much fun. in the end, collingwood won the game by just one score. yes just one score! haha.. it was a close game till the end. great match. there were around 51,400 ppl in the stadium, and most of the ppl there was supporting the doggies. that's how they call. haha!

cold saturday..

i woke up this morning without an alarm and fortunately enough i slept till a bit later than usual. after getting out of bed, i went straight to the kitchen to do some baking. haha! my second attempt of making scones and lucky me that it worked out really well this time. great achievement and it tastes really yummy with the strawberry jam that i bought from miss marple and also i made some cream to go with it. awesome feeling when i had the first bite.. but there's one little thing, i actually forgot to put sugar in it. haha! but it was all good.. ^_^

i didn't stop there though. i continued on to make some pies cause i bought the pastry before and didn't have time to make them during weekdays. and it went out pretty good as well. with the cold and wet weather outside, i ended up cancelling my plans to go to the city, and instead i made myself some nice lunch with dessert. haha! and also to mention that last week my dad and i made some satay chicken for dinner and it turned out to be super yummy! i think i'm a little inspired by masterchef lately. i'm enjoying cooking and learning making new yummy food. nice training huh?
